Question: I am a Singapore, I want to set up a company in Hochiminh City, my means it is a waste treatment company.
For example: My friend has a electronic company, he sells TV, Mobile phone, refrigerator…I want my new company will treat some products wasted by this electronic company.
Please let me know the conditions as well. Do I need a license for that? Which are the licenses?
Answer: We understand that you intend to setup a waste treatment company in Ho Chi Minh City. Under Vietnam Law, you will need to obtain an Investment Certificate (or Business License) for setting up such company.
For obtaining the Investment Certificate, you shall satisfy following conditions:
– Your Company must be equipped with high technology for waste treatment. Competent authority shall carefully examine this based on your detailed explanation on process for waste treatment, environment impact, final result of waste treatment, operation of machine line as well as origin and productivity of machine, investment capital…
– You should contact with an Environment Consultant to assist you to prepare such explanation. An In-principle approval letter of competent authority must be included in the application dossier for opening the Company.
– You must lease a sufficient land lot from competent authority for locating factory for waste treatment. Location of the factory must be in line with master plan of competent authority.
– Then, you shall need to submit required documents to competent authority for obtaining the Investment Certificate for opening such company in Ho Chi Minh City.
