VNIPO temporarily ceases in person activities at its Office in Da Nang City

Abstract

Facing the complicated situation caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, and following the instructions in Dispatch 4537/UBND-KGVX dated July 22^nd, 2021 of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City on the implementation of the supplementing urgent measures in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, to contribute to the protection of public health,  the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (“VNIPO”) in Da Nang City issued Notice 7355/TB-SHTT on the implementation of additional urgent measures in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, to contribute to the protection of public health.

Filing and returning results of industrial property applications

From July 23^rd, 2021, the VNIPO in Da Nang City (“Representative Office”) temporarily stops receiving IP applications and returning results of industrial property applications in person. Industrial property applications and related documents submitted to the Representative Office are only accepted via online or by mail.

Submitting via online: The applicant completes the filing procedure at the online Public Service Portal by the VNIPO, then send the Bank’s confirmation that the fees and charges has been transferred, together with the online application number to the Representative Office.

Submitting by mail: The applicant sends industrial property application with receipts for payment of fees and charges to the Representative Office.

Note: When making the payment, the Applicant must specify the content of the payment, the name of the applicant, and the IP application number/online application number as in the Notice of the VNIPO.

Representative Office will return the saved copy together with the fee and fee receipt to the applicant according to address declared within the application.

Advisory activities conducted by the VNIPO

Representative Office ceases to conduct Advisory activities in person. Accordingly, Advisory activities on IP in general and the procedure for applying for industrial property registration in particular will be conducted exclusively by phone or via email.
