The List of permissible antibiotics as growth stimulants in livestock and poultry feeds in Vietnam and contents thereof was issued according to Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development’s Circular No. 06/2016/TT-BNNPTNT dated May 31, 2016 and takes effect on July 15, 2016.
According to this List, there are 15 kinds of permissible antibiotics are used as growth stimulants in livestock and poultry feeds, include: Bambermycins; BMD (Bacitracin Methylene-Disalicylate); Chlortetracycline; Colistin sulphate; Enramycin; Kitasamycin; Lasalocid sodium; Lincomycin; Monensin; Narasin; Neomycin sulphate; Nosiheptide; Salinomycin sodium; Tylosin phosphate; Virginiamycin. However, there are some principles when using these antibiotics in livestock and poultry feeds, such as: No more than 02 antibiotics on the list hereof are permissible in a poultry and livestock feed; and such antibiotics shall be used according to scientific rationale; Only premixes with the content of antibiotics of not exceeding 20% are allowed to be added to poultry and livestock feed under the provisions hereof and shall not be used for any other purpose. The permissible antibiotics in livestock and poultry feeds in Vietnam and its content specified in the Annex enclosed herewith shall be applied until December 31, 2017 inclusive.
Every type of poultry and livestock feeds which fails to satisfy provisions in this Circular may be sold on the Vietnam’s market until December 31, 2016 inclusive.
