The detailed planning for seaports in the middle central vietnam (group 3)

On July 29, 2016, the Minister of Ministry of Transport issued Decision No. 2369/QD-BGTVT approving the detailed planning for seaports in the Middle Central Vietnam (Group 3) by 2020 and the orientation towards 2030, includes seaports of following coastal provinces: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.

At the detail planning, the Minister predicated to upgrade Highway 12, the segment from Highway 1A to Hon La terminal, and roads connecting from Highway 1A to Gianh terminals; upgrade Highway 9, the segment from Highway 1A to Cua Viet terminal, on from two lanes to four lanes; invest in railways connecting to Chan May, Lien Chieu and Dung Quat ports; enhance private involvement sector in development of seaport infrastructure under PPP form; enhance investment promotion, encourage and enable all domestic and foreign economic sectors to invest in seaport development under regulated investment forms.

By the year 2020, the estimated capacity of goods movement will be from 54 – 61 million tons per year (in which, general cargo and container cargo account for 24 – 28 million tons per year); 108 – 124 million tons per year by 2030 (in which, general cargo and container cargo account for 43 – 51 million tons per year)…

This Decision takes effect on the signing date.
