On September 06, 2016, the Prime Minister issued the Decision No. 1734/QD-TTg on granting approval for project “Policies on synchronous development of infrastructure in the country, linking domestic infrastructure development with regional infrastructure networks”.
At this project, the Prime Minister asked Ministries, Ministerial-level agencies and related agencies focus on the construction of road traffic: high-speed roads, Ho Chi Minh Road …, renovate, upgrade national routes and basically classify them as technical class, make traffic through and upgrade national roads that belong to northern, south- western belt system, routes connecting Vietnamese seaports and neighboring countries such as Laos, Thailand and Cambodia; finance the construction of coastal roads, corridors and border patrol roads according to approved master plan; finance the renovation and upgrading of Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City railway route, increasing speed to 80 – 90 km/h for passenger trains and 50 – 60 km/h for cargo train and traffic capacity of the entire route.
With regard to energy infrastructure, the Prime Minister set a target to 2020, Vietnam shall not construct a 500kV line to import electricity from China; strengthen cooperation with Laos for in the investment and construction of hydropower plants for importation of electricity to Vietnam; study non- synchronizing methods between the two power systems of Vietnam and Laos…
About information and communication technology infrastructure, shall establish preferential, incentive policies for information and communication technology infrastructure projects in general; finance the construction and development of centralized and state-of-the-art software development and information technology parks; construct from two to three centralized information technology parks in each city of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh; establish a series of information technology parks, business incubators and information technology service centers of international standards…
This Decision takes effect on the signing date.
